Foundations of the Clery Act

The National Association of Clery Compliance Officers and Professionals (NACCOP) and The International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators (IACLEA) have partnered to launch the Foundations of the Clery Act training class. D. Stafford & Associates partnered with NACCOP to develop the curriculum for these classes.

The Foundations of the Clery Act class will provide a basic overview of the requirements of the Clery Act and is suited for people who are new to the Clery Act as well as those who have previously attended Clery Act training, as we continually update the curriculum to include new information received from the U.S. Department of Education based on our questions about practical application of the regulations, handbooks and other regulatory guidance.

This class is a perfect way to provide Clery Act training for Public Safety Command Staff and Supervisory personnel who need to have a greater level of knowledge and understanding of the Clery Act. This class is also appropriate for Student Conduct and Title IX staff members who need a deeper understanding of the requirements of the Clery Act. Finally, this class is also a perfect opportunity to invite the person who supervises the Public Safety unit (VP/AVP, etc.) to obtain additional insights regarding the various requirements of the law.

We highly recommend that the appropriate staff members in the following areas attend to make sure they understand the complexities of the law and their role in the institution’s compliance activities: the General Counsel’s Office, Student Affairs, Housing/Residence Life, Student Conduct, Human Resources and the Title IX unit, to name a few.

Certification
Attendees of this class will receive a certificate of completion from NACCOP. Certification verifies attendance at this class and can serve as an institution’s documentation that the attendee has received training in content areas addressed by this class.

Class Schedule

This is a virtual, 4-Day class. Each session is held from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm Eastern time each day.

NACCOP Member = $495
IACLEA Member Rate: $495
Non-Member = $550

 

Important Note for IACLEA Members: If you are not a NACCOP member, but you are an IACLEA member, you will be provided a discount code during the registration process to obtain the IACLEA member rate. The discount code will be provided automatically on the registration form to eligible individuals. If you attend the class using the IACLEA member rate, we will verify your membership with IACLEA. If your institution is not a member, you will be invoiced the difference between the discounted member price and the full non-member price of the class.
