Violence Against Women Act (Series Webinar 7)This webinar will provide an overview of the disclosure and implementation requirements mandated by the Violence Against Women Act. Specifically, the webinar will provide an overview of the educational programs that must be provided to students and employees; the procedures a victim should follow; and the procedures the institution will follow when a VAWA crime is reported, including disciplinary procedures (the requirements for classifying and counting VAWA Offenses are addressed in Webinar 3). At a minimum, we suggest that you invite representatives from the following departments to this session: Public Safety/Police Department, General Counsel’s Office, Compliance and Internal Audit, Student Conduct, VP of Student Affairs/Dean of Students, Residence Life and Housing, Human Resources, Alcohol and Other Drug Prevention Educator, Women’s Center, Admissions, the Title IX Coordinator/Sexual Assault Response Team Leader, and Provost/Academic Affairs Office.
